The Family Intervention and Empowerment program focuses on transitional and cultural adjustment needs of Haitian families. Services include Case Management, Psycho Social Assessment, and Development of a Treatment Plan, Crisis Intervention and Mental Health Counseling The program also features domestic violence support group, anger management group and parenting classes,. The program staff also accompanies parents/guardians and victims to court proceedings and advocate on their behalf. Furthermore, The Family Intervention and Empowerment Program contains an early child hood initiative component which focuses on nature vs. nurture, ages and stages of child development and child safety issues. The program seeks to promote optimal learning and development of children through outreach and education.
FANM also has three additional support programs that focus on outreach, prevention, education and referrals which include:
1) Health Access, which targets uninsured or under-insured. Its primary goal is to increase access to health care through outreach and education, ultimately improving the mental and physical health of individuals in Miami Dade County.
2) Breast Health which seeks to prevent breast cancer through outreach and education, dissemination of information, cancer screenings and follow up to ensure access to available health services.
3) After-School Tutoring, which provides homework assistance, preparation for FCAT reading and math, and character building through self expression and sports.
